Hi,

Has anyone managed to get Windows Movie Maker installed on Windows 7? Someone suggested to use 2.6 for Windows Vista. It installed on my 7 x64 machine but for the x32 machine it says the app is for Windows Vista only.

Thanks

I just installed windows live essentials 2011 and chose live movie maker from the tick box selection. Seems fine on my machine. Win 7 pro sp1 32 bit.

Hope that helps.

Found the only way is to do from the Internet as TechieWills says.

Bit of a pain up the rear end as either has to be done at image build or manaully at each machine due to no MSI/EXE been available. Also you may have issues downloading if behind a county filtering system as my last place did.

Using the live version installed using the following command line:

wlsetup-all.exe /q /NoLaunch /NoToolbarCEIP /NoHomepage /NoSearch /AppSelect:Writer,MovieMaker

Can be done that way through SCCM/SCE as well.

EDIT: I should add that kudos goes to AngryTechnicians blog for this.

I should of mentioned the download bit, I had to connect my Desire to a laptop and download it as BGFL blocked it. Your also bang on about the lack of MSI, its a killer but luckily we only have a few Win 7 Clients at the moment.
