DT2 Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 Wow, glad to hear happy news, did someone break in or take them from the garden? CCTV time/barbed wire etc Taken from the garden around 0700 this morning..... I'm thinking more of a hollowed out shotgun shell filled with dog muck, electrical contacts to the primer, and a makeshift pressure plate from two saw blades and a 9v battery Afghanistan taught me to play dirty
witch Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Glad you have got them back - if I lost my dog I would be devastated - mind you, I don't think anyone would bother with a 12 year old mongrel anyway
alan-d Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 A bit wuff on the dogs but I'm glad you got them back. You must be barking mad not to get them chipped now! A paws for thought :-) 1

Hightower Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Perhaps should have had a SmoothWall box setup on the garden gate. From what I hear they are impenetrable 1
Little-Miss Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Yay!! Good news to start the morning! I want a Pom!
X-13 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I want a Pom! Oh, God... I misread that as you saying you wanted adult material... I need more coffee. 1
DT2 Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) Yay!! Good news to start the morning! I want a Pom! There is a beautiful white one down the road from me. On the upside, I suspect my little red is bearing 'gifts'... Time to tie a knot in it for the little fella.... I'll let you know @aerospacemango here they are.... not brilliant pics, trying to get Alf to stand still is a nightmare.... Edited November 18, 2011 by DT2 1
HarryMonkey Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 God knows what I would have done without them, they're like extra children! Tell me about it. I've got two westies and just can't contemplate the thought of them not being there.

Seriously, Google 'henry krank alarm'. It's a similar principle, but more reliable and simpler; intruders will have bowel-related issues.

Used them on the perimeter fence on the farm when having issues with vandals/thieves of the travelling variety. DT
jinnantonnixx Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 You could wire up two or three for added 'effect'.
X-13 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Why do I get the feeling this is turning into this thread...
jinnantonnixx Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 .... because everyone loves things that go 'bang'. There. That's why.
pete Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 You used to be able to buy indelible paint mines. Essentially a tripwire / pressure-plate activated tube / bag of paint with a propulsion mechanism (usually small explosive charge) that turn everything with a several meters into the Tango man. IIRC there was a bouncing betty version that detonated at waist height for more horizontal coverage. How do I know this? Because my old History teacher was rigging them up in his back garden when I was at school. yes, the same teacher who chased intruders across a field stark-naked waving a kukri at them. NB: this was before moral panic / "we must be see to be doing something, even though it's a terribly wrong thing" law-making made the UK a less fun place.

Don't worry. The way things are going we're going to be set back to Medieval-esque civilisation when the banks collapse. Then we can do "crazy" things like this again. When it happens, I may respec as a rogue.
