abillybob Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 So, technically, the PC version should be absolutely gorgeous?? Nail on the head. Of course isn't every game compared to it's console counter-part!
DMcGuigan Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 So, technically, the PC version should be absolutely gorgeous?? Should be! Whether it is or not, who knows The multiplayer should have a smooth launch this time, they've had plenty of time to work on it now
L3OUGH Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Nail on the head. Of course isn't every game compared to it's console counter-part! Should be! Whether it is or not, who knows The multiplayer should have a smooth launch this time, they've had plenty of time to work on it now Well @abillybob I wouldn't know, I've only had my first gaming rig for about 4/5months. Been a console gamer before this!! And if it doesn't look gorgeous I'm holding @DMcGuigan responsible for getting my hopes up hehe
tmcd35 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I'm sure it'll lock gorgeous... ...In 4-5 years time when all the script kiddies have gotten round to making TMNT mods for it (or whatever).
Zoom7000 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 GTA 3 is still the best in the series for me. I just wish Liberty City was bigger! I didn't enjoy Vice City too much and San Andreas I just ended up using a trainer to do max health and fitness! Going gym is hard enough in real life. Don't want to go to the gym in my gaming as well! GTA 4 was good, but the car handling was absolutely shocking. I remember going on wild car chase rampages on GTA 3/VC/SA but on 4 it almost felt like a chore to drive. Hope they've fixed that for GTA 5.
tmcd35 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Hope they've fixed that for GTA 5. For an open world game car handling in 5 was pretty good. I thought both Sleeping Dogs and Burnout Paradise were better (nothing has beaten Burnout Paradise IMHO). Watch Dogs took some getting used to but is playable if you don't mind wipeing out every bus shelter you pass. GTA:IV - unplayably shocking. The attrocious car machanics are the biggest reason for not playing more than the first hour (that and the story ).
Tesla Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Yes, GTA5 is much better for driving, gta4 was awful, the camera angle being my main issue with it

I agree with the handling for Sleeping Dogs and Burnout Paradise. Burnout as well as most Criterion Games titles have always had the best handling for me.
DMcGuigan Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 The mention of Burnout brings back quite a few memories I used to play that game religiously, seriously, where's BO:Paradise 2?!
tmcd35 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 It was released under the title - Need For Speed Most Wanted and ironically enough, the driving was terrible!
DMcGuigan Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Tried the latest MW, that wasn't fit to be called Paradise 2
hawc Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I hope that the PC version will use all of my 3 screens without causing my R9 290x to cry.
Zoom7000 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Tried the latest MW, that wasn't fit to be called Paradise 2 Indeed! I remember having hours and hours of fun with Burnout Paradise. As for Need for Speed, I don't think there has been a decent NFS game since the original Most Wanted. That was the last one that I really enjoyed. Compelling storyline and excellent game mechanics. It made you want to play the game over and over. I hate how the new NFS games don't have much of a story and are sooooo focused on forcing you to dwell in to online gaming in order to get any where further in the game. Aside from NFS, I did quite enjoy GRID 2, but found it far too short! - - - Updated - - - Tried the latest MW, that wasn't fit to be called Paradise 2 Indeed! Fleetwood Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) I couldn't get into GRID, always found it was just a case of "Hold down W and steer and get to the finish line" - no real skill needed DiRT 2 on the other hand, that was fun agree with everybody else here though that NFS has gone downhill badly, my favourite of the series though if I had to pick one would be Underground 2; mainly because of all the fancy customisations you could make to the cars oh and "Riders On The Storm" with Snoop Dogg, best track in the game I think Edited June 12, 2014 by Fleetwood

It was actually "Hold down S/LT/L2 and slam into everyone" Nobody raced on that game, it was just for killing other players
Tesla Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 +1 for NFSU2, i liked the fact you had to upgrade your cars looks to prgress, whereas in their next one, Carbon, it made no difference, so i just kept stock car design etc, and just upgraded the internals, which for me killed it.

AlfaTech Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Been waiting, never gave up. I recon that I'd be able to play GTA3, VC, SA and GTA4 though again in that time tho.

3s-gtech Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Actually IV does play alright now, but on contemporary hardware it was awful. Very smooth on my old 6870 though.
