Back when I was young ( about 20,000 years ago ) and a stupid poor penniless student, we used to get bladdered on a Saturday night with Gold Label - a hideous disgusting fortified wine. God knows if it's still being made. It was the 80's version of Buckfast. Cheap and nasty.

Thanks :) I have managed for he last 15 years or so without it so I can probably cope but I may end up importing Redbull in bottles shortly as they seem to be stopping selling it and moving solely to cans. I hate drinking from cans, they are made of aluminum(alesheimers) and the drinking surface is rignt out there in the open. With a bottle it does not matter as the drinking surface is kept reasonably safe under the lid, un-pawed at by society at large.

It's been cans here for a long while....

 

Grr :(, the world is against me. I'll have to just start mixing extra caffene into other drink, ultra-caffinated sports water anyone:D

As someone who is teetotal I can only answer with the drink I will have if I do ever drink ... Whisky and Whiskey ... but none of this Bourbon stuff ... yuck. If you have to stick coke in it to make it drinkable then what is the point? A waste of a perfectly good drink (of coke, that is).

 

I drink 3 or 4 times a year as part of a whisky tasting club ... and we cover such a lovely range it is hard to pinpoint a single preferred one down. I do tend to prefer peaty ones ... we had a lovely Bunnahabhain 12 year old on Friday, but I do like the odd unique one too ... I had chance to get hold of a nice Californian one called St George (not linked to the English distillery of the same name) and it was lovely and sweet. I brought the remains to the EG conference and @ZeroHour, @bossman and @EduTech seemed to appreciate it too.

@Grumbledook if you happen to bring some to the next BETT I am quite happy to appreciate it. I drink whiskey for the flavour, not for getting drunk. I have also been on a whiskey tasting event a while back but the mrs hates the stuff so its difficult for me to get there as she will need to have the car to look after our daughter.

 

As for other drinks, I will drink Guinness, Ale and Cider, and if at a push I will drink beer/lager, but never if given the choice.

The Alzheimers/Aluminium link has been largely discounted these days. besides Aluminium is an important component of tinfoil hats, you wouldn't want it leaching into the brain!

Oh boy did i appreciate it, I had never had whiskey prior to that moment (may have had a taste of my grandads one time or another) and it was very nice! I may not have been feeling to "hyper" afterwards and I slept pretty damn good! :D

 

I thought trying to keep up with @ZeroHour was a challenge! but staying up until the end when we all retired after our 'session' I find it hard to believe! :p

Allthough at the moment for mainstream that you can buy in Tesco etc... atm I'm on Newcastle Brown, 4 for £5.00 :)

 

If I'm up our local RAF families club though it's £1.65 for a pint of Tetleys.

@SYNACK - Maybe we can do a trade - if they ship us back vanilla coke I can ship cherry coke :D

 

Also my tipple is JD and Coke or Bundaberg and Coke

I'm either an Ale or a Cider drinker. Luckily my local have lots of local and guest beers as well as three good ciders. Stroud Budding is my go to pint, this weekend also had a few Adnams American IPAs, very nice. Cider wise Adlestons cloudy is lovely, but can lead to crazy :censored: occurring so I tend to stick to Aspell's.
