The life of most pairs ends up being around 6 - 12 weeks at most. So, where do the men here get their work shoes from, and how long do they last?
TimMcShane Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 You can't beat a Doctor Martin, used by police all over. comfy and last for ages. I, nowadays, have Clarkes shoes with a cushion shell. Mine have lasted years. It's always the heal that goes first with me due to my inordinate size!

I know it might sound daft, but have you considered having your feet remeasured to make sure you're getting properly fitted shoes? Sounds to me like there's more to it... unless you just randomly drag your feet on things! You can't beat a Doctor Martin! I'd like to beat Doc Martin!

Oaktech Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 timberland pro's worked well for me (i beat £60 CAT shoes to pieces in 6 weeks) or totectors. I also have hitec magnums which are doing really well.

I've been looking at Dr. Martens and they seem decent but a bit expensive. Looked at Arco shoes and boots too but didn't know of any local shops that stock them to try.

Quackers Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Bought my current shoes in Dec 2009, still extreamly comfortable, still in very good condition, worn everday, and in the summer months i work to work and back , so they have had some hammer, they were Prada, cost £280.
featured_spectre Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Dr Martins with insoles that help my supination (curtesy of my knees) and so far they have lasted me the better part of 6 years (a few scuffs on them) but still perfectly fine to use. Nothing permanent marker and polish cant fix anyways! Find that most pairs of Dr Martins shoes will go well with suits

Pretty much all my shoes have always lasted years...although I guess it depends on what your criteria are for deciding that a pair is ruined After all every time I take stuff to our local tip I see people chucking stuff away that looks in better nick that things I have still in use at home...

HarryMonkey Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 My last pair were Base from er indoors' catalogue, lasted me about 5 or 6 years. My current ones are a pair of £20 cheapies from ASDA that I've had for the last 2 years and when polished come up as good as new.
