HaleStorm Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 the 3200 error is itunes timing out when its trying to verify the IPSW, its nothing to do with a corrupt file, the only reason it would brick it would be losing connection to the device, but it sounds like @HodgeHi's phone was in full DFU mode rather than restore mode the 3200 errors were freuqent last night because the world and there iwife were trying to update withing 10 mins of the release and even apples data center and server clusters could not keep up with the demand 1
crazytechnician Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 One thing I've just noticed. Even though it did tell me it would leave my data alone, including contacts I've just realised. all my contacts have vanished !!! good job I have a backup.

ZeroHour Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 (edited) One thing I've just noticed. Even though it did tell me it would leave my data alone, including contacts I've just realised. all my contacts have vanished !!! good job I have a backup. One thing to note if you sync at work and your phone book normally syncs into outlook 2010, when you add an exchange server outlook will set the default data store to exchanges one rather then the personal one which means iTunes uses exchanges address book. I had my phone syncing to outlook before linking outlook to an exchange server. When I synced my phone after I suddenly found all my contacts were gone because iTunes doesnt let you select where to pull the data from and uses the default which is changed to the exchange data store, which was a blank address book. Now to use personal and exchange (aka personal / work address books) before syncing I have to switch the default Data File to Personal Folders then exit outlook and only then run iTunes and syncing. After thats done I switch them back around and run outlook (use control panel->mail) Edited October 13, 2011 by ZeroHour 1

RobFuller Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Did 5 ipad today at about 10:00am, no problems at all.
stevenwba Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 no problems at all for me with iPad, and enjoying some of the new features
ChrisH Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Done my IPAD, it went fine. All I was bothered about was tabbed browsing in Safari
mac_shinobi Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 only thing that might be an issue on my iphone 4 is as mentioned before by I think Tony was it saps battery more. Might be down to the notification centre and other bits
tech_guy Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I was a bit miffed about the tabbed Safari browser but now I love it. Messaging is great. 5GB for iCloud is a bit measly. iPad seems to be a bit nippier as well.
Heebeejeebee Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 No problems updating one of my iPads last night but now none of the programs work (except the defaul Apple ones). They just flick on then off again. Tried a reset - no joy. HBJB

crc-ict Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 @Heebeejeebee: My iPhone did this as well - it seems that the restore doesn't actually put all the apps back properly. I reconnected my phone to iTunes and it then came up with 'Restoring Apps' - it took ages and nothing much seemed to be happening but when it had finished everything worked properly again. Might be worth a try connecting back to iTunes and resynching.

Yeah defintely worth connecting to itunes again for app retore to happen, only problem i can see, is every single app wanting to give you notifications via notification centre, might get annoying with a few 100 apps
Heebeejeebee Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Thanks will try those later. I chose not to setup the Cloud bits when it re-booted for the first time. Should I have done? I didn't seem like anything I'd particularly want to use. Cheers HBJB
Little-Miss Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I got really lucky. Started the download pretty much dead on 6 and after a couple of issues my end was done but like 7:30 lol!

Arthur Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Just ordered my replacement mac It would be interesting to know if you have the issue described here. I was thinking of getting the same one to replace my Mac mini from 2009.
TechMonkey Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 One issue I have found is my custom ringtones have all gone. Creating custom vibrate schemes looks fantastic though. iOS 5: Exploring 7 Hidden New Features | Gadget Lab | Wired.com 1
