I get the same % discount on both contracts for loyalty and for working for the government. What do I pick? Are you really paying just for the name with the iphone? MK-2 Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 The s2 is no bulkier than an iphone4 tbh. thinner, but perhaps slightly larger face, but no bulkier. its also much lighter. camera and camcorder on the s2 is absolutely fantastic, apps are becoming more and more widespread, plus you have places like xda developers for things like other mods for the s2 (so you can remove touchwiz if it really annoys you). really it depends what you want to use it for. both will do a job
JoeBloggs Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I've got the S2... awesome phone. The screen is really good, it does feel a bit big at first but the phone is so light and thin it's ok. I would deffo recommend the S2!

As a standard user I recommend them, but as I like to play around with the OS and mess about with things on a phone, the android device can handle this a lot better I think.

ben604 Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 S2 owner here. They're excellent. The iPhone is nice and very functional, but the extra screen size is enough to get the S2 alone. Not to mention it's pretty much twice as "powerful" in every department. Oh, and CHEAP! I paid £100 up front, for a 12 month contract at £46 a month, but with my discount, it's £29 a month. No brainer. I get a new phone every 9 months.

(I have the Galaxy S) My brother, on the other hand, dumped his iPhone for an HTC Sensation, and after years of telling me how great the iPhone was, has completely changed his views. Fanboi no more! They're both good phones - I prefer the iphone and have a 4s on order but that's my preference. As to what one you should get, I think how they feel and how they work in your hand and which one you can easily get your head around is going to be a more worthwhile comparison than which one has a camera with more megapixels or whatever. When I talked about the iphone being my preference earlier on, I mean that the choice of phone is quite a personal thing... it's something you'll lug around with you all the time and so whichever one you feel most comfortable with really is the most important thing I can think of. Also think about the apps you will use - though each app is usually fairly cheap in itself, the cost of them adds up quickly enough and whichever phone you decide to buy, it will cost a lot of money to change course later on and rebuy all the same sorts of apps over again!

The screensize is great, but can take some getting used to, you know its in your pocket. Battery life isn't too bad actually. I have GPS/Wifi on and from 100% in the morning, with normal use (not games playing or movie watching) I get home in the evening with about 75%. I think I've had 2 and a half days on battery as max so far without a charge. Obviously using it for games and gps and downloading over wifi will take up more, but as a general phone it's still OK
JoeBloggs Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I have a USB cable at work so I keep it plugged in most of the time when I'm at my desk. I also have a car charger (£3 or something from Play) incase I need to charge on the go - then keep my actual charger at home. I was taking pics while on the p1ss on Saturday night and it died about 3:30am which was slightly annoying!!
