She was low health and doing her hiding in the corner bit and I just hit her with an arrow and she was dead, by accident, of course!

I remember getting all excited when I did my first ever enchantment (Imperial Bow of Fear!) - "Yay this is great, I can make enemies flee!"

 

Went to do the first shot, Faendal ran in front of me. The arrow hit him straight in the head and then he ran off.. leaving me to fight a Frost Troll.. at Level 6.. with 10 Iron Arrows and a Steel Dagger (I lost my weapons, okay? )

 

GOOD PLAN OF ATTACK.

Stoneflesh is an Alteration spell and I bought it from the wizard in Whiterun. Not all spells are visible until you are high enough skill in their talent tree.

I spent about 150 hours on Skyrim, and never used anything more than fire spell in one hand and an axe in the other.

No stoneflesh or other types of magic to 'buff' me or disable enemies; just burn and hack, burn and hack, and it got me through the whole game with no worries - in fact I wish there had been harder parts, everything after level 30 just felt like I was walking it.

My journey towards High Hrothgar + up the 7,000 steps included:

 

2x Ice Wolves

2x Wolves

1x Ice Wraith

1x Frost Troll (was a right barsteward to kill)

2x Dark Brotherhood Assassins

4x Bandits (Hired Thugs because I killed that old Anise woman, the secret witch!)

 

All at Level 6. I'm pretty sure I was supposed to only have 3 out of that list of 6! I P-1-55'd off the whole of Tamriel, clearly.

I went up there before I got to level 3...NOTHING up there...also, if you read all of the tablets on the way up (in order) will grant "Voice of the sky"...which means no animals will attack you for 24 real time hours...the spell STOPS if you attack them though.

Hahah yeah I blasted loads of goats with my fireball spell on my way up there - I even chased a few back down to get them!

Mwhahahahahaha! (I played quite an evil guy, there were several small villages with no-body left living in them by the end. Hehehehe )

Pff, Level 25!? How many caves and towers did you clear out! At least you managed to explore the map though rather than just blind-follow the main quest! I only went to HH because I wanted the Unrelenting Force shout, I could barely make a pot shiver with just 'Fus'

 

Lol'd about the Goats thing, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who chases the foxes/rabbits/goats when they try to make a break for it! It's like in the GTA games, I seem to have this habit of smashing up Taxi's.. I realy don't know why.

Ive maxed a few skills to 100 even smithing I used the bug to Lv speech too haha

There is a woman called Angi who lives in Angi's camp. Chat to her and she will train you in different aspects of Archery to help boost your skill! You'll also get given Angi's bow at the end. However if your lvl 42 already, the bow will be a little under powered.

 

 

Take on some giants too. they take a ot of arrows to kill, but it helps boost your skill.

She does not do 'pay to train' - she actually sets you tasks and you can get 6 skill points from her. Also she has a book in her hut on Archery and if you read it, you gain another point.

No probs. I know 7's not many, but it's a quick & easy 7 points.

 

Careful though, I've read some times a dragon will show up there and she can be killed by it rather easily.

I didnt know you got the Relentless Force from HH so I just ignored it and went about exploring. Never used quick travel, always on food and fighting/killing things with magic & axes as I went. I was wanted everywhere and kiling guards all the time, kept returning to peaks to take down dragons over & over again, I smithed like crazy and got the awesome armours & weapons really early on in the main storyline, found loads of the Daedric quests & items before going up HH too. I think of the 150-odd hours I played at least 100 of those was before going up HH the first time, that gives you some idea how much I went around levelling up!

But I do use a bow a lot, so my archery is pretty high. Killing giant and mammoths are good ways to level it up, just find a high place to shoot from that they cannot easily get to and bingo!

 

Levelling up gets extremely slow from level 45ish+. Took me a good 10hrs to level up from 49 to 50...

OK I think I have a weird bug. I've killed 3 dragons, have 2 dragon souls on my shouts screen and cannot unlock the greyed out fire breath as it says I need a dragon soul.

Pay to train to level 50 costs 28k...which if you use faendal as a follower, means you get the money back from him...its a great glitch. Lol

I'm a little late to the party here I know (my meagre budget has me clasping at pre-owned games when I can!) but have to say I'm enjoying it so far... although the first 30 minutes wasn't fun. I assume that had I played Elder Scrolls games before, I'd know how to equip armour and weaponry and wouldn't have spent the first half an hour running at armed guards in a tunic and trying to pummel them with my bare hands like a psychopath.

 

Also, I'm new generally to modern RPG's and clueless when it comes to race, so I wussed out and went for the Nord.

 

Oh, and about 4 hours in I figured out how to use Magick.

 

Steep learning curve!

Magic is good to use as some races are weak against it...the bow is good to use as well, as you can do much more ridiculous damage (more than a sword, axe, hammer, staff)
