Words fail.

No, ITV fails.

I'm pre-emptively calling it. Someone, somewhere will claim the ArmA 2 footage is showing the video game responsible for all the IRA/Libya grief.

And they say gamers can't tell fantasy from reality...

Arma 2:

The graphics are awesome, the sounds and gampelay are very realistic, but come the #### on.....

You're holding a mouse and using a keyboard - if you still can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality at that point then you're probably a butty short of a picnic me old china....

But apparently its the Gamers who cant tell fantasy from reality

well itv cant tell a good program from dross (they now make 2 programs worth watching and one of them is on itv4 and the other is off air) so why should they spot anything

If any Minecraft players want to come and dig up the bottom of my garden in spring, please feel free to drop me a line ;)

As regards the ITV footage, what an awful fail. I mean, how did the IRA even manage to smuggle in a Russian Urals truck and heavy AA, and then shoot down a helicopter that was not even used by UK forces? Oh dear, I'll bet rival media groups are going to be all over this like a rash. Should be fun.

This is meant to be ITV's new flagship in depth current affairs programme and is produced in house. Not only this major fail, they also showed a clip which was meant to be of recent rioting in Ireland but was in fact from the 1990's! I really do despair at the current state of UK TV output for news and current affairs, you have the BBC with their very biased leftist agenda, Sky with their Murdoch agenda and ITV who couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery.

i consider myself to be wilfully ignorant of current, current affairs, because it's impossible to get a balanced view. If can't take a balanced view then i will take no view at all.

Even if something seems unbalanced, you have to be wary of them using words in a way to envoke meanings which convey their views on the matter without it being overtly noticeable.

[i think it has a proper name... but I can't remember it.]

yeah, I did psychology for a while (but dropped it for physics) and it does have a name, but i forget what it was...

there is no way of being human and commenting on a situation without puting your own views into it... but there is puting your own views into it because the situation invokes an emotional response, and then there is deliberatley sensationalising to some master agenda (daily mail style)!

For a second I was worried... After I posted I remembered it was mentioned in Torchwood. So I wasn't 100% sure it wasn't made up.
