sidewinder Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Hmm theres a Currys just down the road from work but I'm thinking now I may have missed the boat and there isnt much point Not that I really need one anyway!
AyatollahPies Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Well folk, we appear to have brought down almost every online electronic retailer. lol I bet they are losing hundreds of thousands today, when all they all to do was put a sign on their home page stating they had no stock and for folk not to bother trying. As it is, Joe Public that have no interest in a Touchpad, but are trying to order other items will not be able to get through either. Private sector efficiency?
andydis Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 has anybody managed to get one or an email confirmation yet? im starting to wonder if there ever were any in the 1st place.

Dos_Box Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 BBC Now reporting they have all sold out: BBC News - Discounted HP Touchpads sell out
computer_expert Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Well folk, we appear to have brought down almost every online electronic retailer. lol Or as a member on another forum put it: There's no need to hire a botnet to DDOS a website, just tell people that they have stock of HP touchpads.
GREED Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Could very much do with Acer also deciding to drop the tablet from their portfolio... I quite fancy one of their dual touch screen tablet/notebooks for £50! ICONIA
AyatollahPies Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I bet they haven't sold out. I bet they simply finally twigged that due to the likes of Twitter and HotUKDeals, they were suffering from DoS attacks, purely through unexpected traffic. I have no sympathy for the retailers though. Some interesting reading for insomniacs and Psychologists. PALM PRE3 & HP TOUCHPAD 16GB/32GB £89/£115 FROM TODAY STOCK LEVELS - OFFICIAL THREAD ** Pls do not offer to trade items in this thread ** - Page #434 - HotUKDeals (No I've not read every page)

garethEds Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 The hotukdeals.com website is the funniest thing I've read in ages. GJE
computer_expert Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 (edited) The hotukdeals.com website is the funniest thing I've read in ages. GJE look at the tags: touchpad, Obsolete Brick, kfc, out of stock, hp, touchpad, hp touchpad, tablet, Slate, bargain, cheap tablet, united rule, apple, rules, expensive digital photoframe edit - seems the tags have been cleaned up now Edited August 23, 2011 by computer_expert
RichB Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 BT Business / Dabs have them just had a call from my account manager!
Domino Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 BT Business / Dabs have them just had a call from my account manager! Yet not showing on their site - sneaky, sneaky...
stickyfoot Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Just rang Dabs and was told they have all been sold now.
plexer Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Looks like it's game over with stock levels. Misco have stock but they've all been sold without the account managers being able to sell any to their customers. Ben
plexer Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I'm going to dismantle all my old knackered hp laptops and take the touchpads out of them and flog those on ebay Then buy an ipad. Ben
Arthur Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 This is cool... CyanogenMod 7 running on the HP TouchPad. Link: http://www.neowin.net/news/cyanogenmod-7-demoed-on-the-hp-touchpad
pritchardavid Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Cant see I think thats call, touch doesnt even work yet! now get a windows 8 (arm version) with the touch interface then we are talking!
Arthur Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 You're right. It's early days yet, but at least it's booting. I think Windows 8 may not work on the TouchPad due to the lack of drivers for the Qualcomm APQ8060 SnapDragon chipset and Adreno 220 GPU.
stevetheb Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Just spotted this, should anyone still be looking... http://www.elf.co.uk/PriceList.pdf
