ellisteph10 Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Hi, We are currently running XP on all school PCs but are moving over to Windows Server 2008 and upgrading PCs to Win 7. What is the best cloning software to run round with? Weve tried Clonezilla and it wasnt up to multicasting. Thanks
irsprint84 Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Fog is great plus I use PING for the occasional one FOG cant do (similar to FOG but done from usb HDD)
CyberNerd Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 FOG is great. I'd also like to recommend these: http://www.lindy-international.com/lindyshop/manuals/42618v0.pdf probably not what your after for cloning on mass but they are fantastic for one-off jobs and don't require software. The eSATA connector means you can quickly pull a disk (from a laptop) and check the SMART status or just use as a external eSATA or USB device.
eddyc Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 We use Windows Deployment Services which is a part of Windows Server - You just have to PXE boot machines and then let it roll. Fairly simple to roll out, and just gets on with the job!
mrbios Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 SCCM, still configuring it but it's fantastic! Previously using a lite touch WDS setup which was good but the extra features SCCM gives you makes life so much easier! Personally wouldn't recommend third party programs considering how well microsofts own implementations of WDS and SCCM run.
