Blithering IDIOT!

My thoughts exactly!

"It's really an unfortunate incident that probably could have been avoided if he had just chosen a bush."

So...let's extrapolate that sentence.....

He pees behind a bush instead, which filters down through the earth and into the water table, anyway, so no difference! Or am I missing something here?

I knew I should've paid more attention in 'O' Level Geography!! It would probably get filtered, and those

"6 to 8 ounces"
will be fine!

"....was caught on a security camera relieving himself in the pristine lake."

Pristine = completely free from dirt or contamination.

It's open to the world... pristine..... impossible.

I love this bit: "I'm willing to do community service to clean up the place because I feel bad and feel pretty stupid."

So he's offering to, erm, clean up what he did? He's going to remove the urine he peed into the lake?? And he feels stupid because...

Now that would really be a case of "extracting the urine".

Thing is, that lake is the drinking water supply, post treatment - so what is in that lake ends up in people's taps from what I've read in several places.

Surely having an open air lake post treatment is really really dumb?

"There probably isn't a whole lot of difference," explained David Shaff, the Water Bureau's Administrator. "I think part of it is just that general yuck factor of 'yes, we have birds on their all the time but we don't have people peeing in it all the time.'"

Fuzzy logic or what!

Not anywhere as as stupid as the lake manager must feel! The world isn't interested in the man peeing in the lake, it IS interested in the twerp who emptied it though!

Only in America

Another recent "only in America" story... :)

Man robbed bank for $1, hoping to be sent to prison, so as to obtain health care

James Verone says he has no medical insurance. He has a growth of some sort on his chest, two ruptured disks and a problem with his left foot. He is 59 years old and with no job and a depleted bank account. He thought jail was the best place he could go for medical care and a roof over his head. Verone is hoping for a three-year sentence.
