MrDarcy Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Hi Has anyone used a company called DTS (Digital Technology Solutions). According to their spiel they are a reseller for Olivetti who are looking to get into the education market. Anyone had any dealings with them who could recommend them?
irsprint84 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 They ve been spamming my telephone alot recently
jl2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 Offering us free laptop leases. Sounds too good to be true?
paulhowes Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 I met 2 guys from this company yesterday at one of the schools i support in Brum. They trying to sell a photocopier contract worth approx 8k per year over a 3 yr period. However the main point of their visit is this: They also offering to supply free of charge?!?!: 30+ netbooks\laptops, 2 trolleys, 4x Full Promethean Systems (inc board\proj) and make a payment of approx £1500 to the school each quarter over 3yrs. For this they want the school to become a referral site for their company....a good source of advertisement in the Bham area they say!! (they reckon they trying to get a name for themselves in Bham). Anyone else come across these guys??....Me personally i dont buy it....nothing for free in this life and all. I haven't seen any terms and conditions etc (not for me to decide if its a scam) so cant comment on that BUT would be very interested in hearing if anybody had any similar experiences\dealings with this lot and their take on it?! Cheers Paul
36Degrees Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 Only advice I can offer is probably what you have heard before - photocopier salesmen are the worst sharks in sales and make sure that everything is unambiguously laid out in a contract document.
jl2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 Paul, They're offering us a similar deal in Berkshire, though without any tie in to photocopier leases. 30 free laptop leases, replaced after 18 months. I'm also waiting for T&Cs. They say they can provide references from other schools who are using them for us to check.
