marsdenprimary Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Hello, We're suddenly having an issue whereby when a user logs on, the Internet homepage (which I have done via Group Policy) doesn't load. If you press refresh or the home button...it loads. It's only started happening recently. Any ideas? Just to add, even though it has never been a problem before, we have an 'All Computers' GPO container and also an 'All Users' GPO containers (pretty standard I suppose) but the Group Policy object 'Internet Explorer Proxy Settings' is in both. Could this have an effect too?
sukh Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Hi When and where was the homepage set? User policy or machine policy? Has this changed recently? If you have specified in both, remove from one section and test. Sukh
ngreenwood Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Could it be that the 'Customize IEx Wizard' is attempting to display but you are suppressing the popup? I have seen exactly that before.
cpjitservices Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I'd start by logging onto a machine locally and set the proxy settings manually in IE, then logoff or restart and log on as a student (if it is students that this happens too?) and see if that fixes the problem - or try a forced GPupdate see if that makes a difference.
Dom_ Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Had this issue a lot with IE7 - never looked for a solution as upgrading to IE8 fixed it. Are you usine IE7?
chazzy2501 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 have you accidently enabled the automatic connection settings in IE?
