ISA Server Blocking upload of images to the web

We are having an issue with Java and ISA 2006. Well, at least that’s what we think is causing the issue. Some Java driven apps don’t seem to work, some do. Pretty sure this is due to the way ISA 2006 handles cookies. If we put a test rule on the ISA box allowing just users rather than authenticated users from a test pc out to the internet everything works fine. Obviously we don’t really want to do this plus when running Websense no auth access has an impact on how Websense reports activity, it’s done by IP rather than username.

 

What basically is happening is when anyone tries to upload images to a particular website (Futsal UK Learning Login page) it prompts us for a username and password… if you put in the username and password it just hangs!

 

Has anyone had a similar issue and if so how have you got round it?

When you say you alllow users (not authenticated users) to access the webiste, so you mean a account create on the ISA server and all works fine?

Java _generally_ doesn't like proxy auth (yeh, what a bunch of cr*p) can you set "do not auth for" just on that particular site?

as a test/workaround can you disable Java using the proxy and then test.

How exactly is Java uploading the files? Is it using FTP by any chance? ISA/TMG blocks FTP writes by default, they need to be enabled.

This is an java issue not a TMG/ISA issue.... just create a rule with all user set...and place above authenticated user rule.

Sorry for not replying any sooner!!

yes i meant when i put the ip of my computer into the non authentication group then this works fine!

i have never setup a rule on the ISA before or have any knowledge about this - My boss usually deals with stuff like this!

so any help on setting this up would be greatful!!
