Well, the HT wouldn't authorise me to claim my mileage to drive down, but have now managed to find a sensible train journey at a sensible price which she's agreed to. Trainline etc were coming up with either a stupid route via London, or a 1 change route that was £220 each way. Bit of research and I've managed to get a 1 change route for £94 return.

If the change switches from say virgin to gner then you should buy 2 tickets, one for each legg and it will be cheaper.

Amazing, its the opposite here - the school won't cover my travel expenses via train. If I drove, they would cover it.

Or, as we found out last year. Go direct to London (single journey) then get to Paddington and a train to Reading from there. We saved about £100 per ticket last time we did that.

Me! I'm going up the night before and staying at the IBIS and then coming home on the day.

Well I'm from Maidstone/Tonbridge area, I would have loved to stay but the wife and kids have other plans lol so will be driving down on the day, fingers crossed for the M25

Or if your going the same day get a travel card which is less than 20 quid and takes you anywhere in London to Reading.

Just tried that one out and doesn't seem cheaper this year to do that, it seems to be about £100 doing it in 2 return journeys, where as you can do it in one lot for £85

I was signing up and then realised it is half-term and I will be away! Really annoying as I only live about a 20 min walk from the venue. Who decided the date?

All Edugeek events are in school holidays, as most of us struggle to get time off in term time for CPD due to a lot of us being on our own in departments and schools not wanting to be without support for that day.

I would be very disappointed if I was not able to attend as a result of admin error.

PM a few of the mods if you're not having any luck, I had the same issue but eventually got on the list :)

After all the work getting onto the list it looks like I won't be able to make it :(

If anyone wants an extra space you can grab mine on the condition you tell me what MS are saying about Office 365 ;)

It's only just been brought to my attention by John that I'm down for attending this event. I have no records of emailing the registration address, and no recollection of registering via any other methods. There's no way I can attend, so please remove me :)

Apologies to those who were expecting me to be there to answer any questions about classroombookings ;)
