She is the lovely lady from Net-Ctrl that is helping out on the stand. She very kindly came over while I lurked shyly to say hi and gave me lots of free stuff.

 

I think she is the lovely lady I spoke to on Wednesday too.

I'm so jealous of you lot who have gone to BETT, being data manager they don't see fit to send me! I'm hoping to sweet talk them in to letting me go next year.

Was neph the other lad talking to them?! It was hard to make out, I was just watching the webcam and one moment you were talking to the guys on the stand, then the next minute you were over there talking to the ladies.

I was talking to them, as well as a few others, however I spent a lot of my time being accosted by other stands asking me to take a look and get the stuff on their site, and no matter how much I said, go to the edugeek stand and speak to dos_box, they didn't understand!

Yeah, kind of annoying. I had a waltz upstairs when I was there, and there was a "we can beat your printing costs by 15%" stand. A woman was poaching on this side of the stand, and a man poaching on the other side. The woman tried to thrust a leaflet into my hand to which I said "no thanks". I saw that the guy saw me refuse but knew what was coming. When I reached him he tried to thrust a leaflet into my hand. I couldn't help myself so turned to him and lost my head. I started ranting about how he just saw me refuse a leaflet from his colleague, and then I went into a tirade about I would never use a company that employed those kind of tactics.

 

I think he got a little bit of a shock.

you should have banged on about they are not saving printing costs as they are handing out leaflets when they could have saved money and just told you to visit a website :p

Good point - maybe next year we should just get HighTower to bring along his gear and we'll tattoo the edugeek logo and web address on people ;)
