Help with my dissertation research, for Educational IT Infrastructures

For example, i was reading a paper on Queen Margaret University (from memory), where they had planned a campus around Thin Clients, and saved £1m on Build Costs (due to natural ventilation and lighting) with £100k savings per year on energy costs.

:)

All done, and one question about your statement above, did this include the increased cost of data centre space, power consumption, air conditioning etc?

Thanks to all the responders, so far we have 36 responses.

I think i will leave it open for a few more days, and then analyse the results

Just added my responses too. Best of luck with your studies.

I hope everyone will be as forthcoming when I start my MSc dissertation in September....

There are 4 year degrees, most of which have a year in industry as part of the course. Most Bachelors degrees however are 3 year courses.

In England you would normally do A-Levels over 2 years so most students leave in 6th year then go to Uni. In Scotland the system was designed that you do 1 year of Highers then you can go to university a year earlier hence the 4 year degree. If you do Advanced Highers or A-Levels it is common to go straight into the 2nd year of the course as the material will be roughly the same.

Done - but you need an "other" tick box in the role question or itwont let you finish if you wish to use the other text box.

I have now updated the question, so there shouldnt be any further issues. So far we have had 45 responders which is great, and the results are very interesting.

I will probably close the questionaire tonight, to start analysis. If we could get another 5 responders, to take it to 50, that would be great too :)

Thanks again! :D

Thanks for completing it :)

Up to 49 though, so if I can one more, then ill close it and start analysing. I am also considering copying the questionnaire, and getting some EU or USA educational institutions to complete it.

Purely only an idea, but it may lead the research to see where the UK sits versus the US or EU counterparts. If you know of any US / EU / Asia IT Administrators, let me know and I can post a new link :)

Thanks to all responders, you have all been great: D
