t_guest Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 went to maplins today and bought service air to blow the stuff from under my keyboard when i put the straw in no air so i went back and said no air in this can and the man went just breath what !!!
Andrew_C Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Does that actually mean anything to anyone?
localzuk Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I am guessing: Went to maplins today and bought service air *can of compressed air* to blow the stuff from under my keyboard. When I put the straw in there was no air in the can. I went back to the store and said that there was no air in the can and the man told me to 'just breath'. What?!?
webman Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 'Just breathe' as in, 'Just relax, man! Slow down, you're not making any sense!' ... Or... 'Just breathe on the keyboard'? While the former makes more logical sense, it strikes me that the intended meaning of the Maplin employee was actually to breathe on the keyboard
ChrisC Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 is hard to prove that you just didn't discharge the can (no jokes) and came back asking for your money/another free can. We know you didn't, but its a little tricky to prove. Chris
webman Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 That's exactly why they should have a digital LCD readout showing how much is left ...
localzuk Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 That's exactly why they should have a digital LCD readout showing how much is left ... You mean like a fire extinguisher has a gauge? I think the product is a bit too 'throw away' and cheap to include any form of high tec wizardry really...

We know you didn't, but its a little tricky to prove. Chris theres no liquid in it when it's empty. It would weigh less if it was discharged.
webman Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 For the prices I've seen some people charge for a can of air it should be gold-plated and come with a voucher for Vista Ultimate!
nathan Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 is a complete rip off, seen some around the £8 mark for a little can.

webman Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 One hour per school per week + travelling = 37.5hrs/week Doable I suppose
_Bat_ Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 One hour per school per week + travelling = 37.5hrs/week Doable I suppose Did you include the fixing computers part in the one hour a week or just getting down the corridor through the of teachers.

We know you didn't, but its a little tricky to prove. Chris No we don't! One hour per school per week + travelling = 37.5hrs/week Doable I suppose 1 hour per school per week, for 46 weeks per year is a whole week and a bit at each school! what do mean you haven't got all the systems tip-top and ship-shape by easter? it's just not good enough!
john Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 is a complete rip off, seen some around the £8 mark for a little can.eBay for the best value air, I paid 45p per can, but I did buy 15 of them at once so thats probably why they were that price.
webman Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 eBay for the best value air Scottish highland as opposed to London pollution?
john Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 eBay for the best value air Scottish highland as opposed to London pollution? DNo this is Swiss air, so its very pure and clean

webman Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Although this is a professional forum, our jobs are so stressful (dealing with kids losing their work, teachers asking for things yesterday), that we just have to inject a bit of humour into things every now and then. It's nothing personal
ChrisC Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 No, as craig said, us stuffy technicians have become synical(spelling) in our techy jobs (betcha thought i was gonna say old age!) that sometimes we are short with people and appear to have little/no patience. But really, just blame (most) teachers. Chris I am aware that some teachers are amazing and give little/no grief or even help with problems, but some just downright take the buscuit!
