elsiegee40 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I have to admit, I don't... I'm rubbish at housework at the best of times! I clean the projector filters every half term (the Casio bulbless ones get a good dust on the outside), but that's it.

Lol, I'm not going to clean them (hopefully, but you never know, I'm back on cleaning filters as the temp caretaker is too clumsy to do it) One of our boards is filthy, someone has used the smartboard eraser to clean the ordinary whiteboard, then used it back on the smartboard. The cleaner used a solution of some sort of gentle cleaning fluid on a damp cloth but it didn't make much of an impression. I just wondered what other schools use for ordinary regular cleaning rather than when the smartboard is filthy.

nzwasp Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Use a non alcohol based cleaner - theres a KB article on the smarttech.com website - it refers to using dry erase markers and cleaner on the smartboards but should have what you are looking for. bossman Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Mr Muscles glass cleaner is excellent for cleaning IWB and also hardglass TFT monitors without leaving smears but you have to use a microfibre cloth, I buy mine at Wilkinsons JML 3D Ultra Fibrecloths x 3 | Cleaning Cloths | | Scourers & Cloths from Wilkinson Plus Have fun
CapEnd Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 The best thing I have ever found for cleaning a smartboard is those magic sponges. They are brilliant, just dampen them a little and no cleaning fluid is required. They take off glue, permenant marker, whiteboard pens, crayon, you name it, i have cleaned it off with these magic sponges. They are, well, Magic! Our caretaker gets them. mrbios Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 We've got some whiteboard cleaning spray stuff, purely for us when boards are filthy or have had permanent marker used on them. Other than that it's the teachers jobs to keep their boards clean, we have an interactive whiteboard in almost every classroom in the school, so sod going around cleaning them ourselves!
