HTC must be a bit hacked off that Google have dropped them as handset maker... probably something to do with Google wanting to kill off Sense?

Another challenger in the game of "can we make Tom buy a smart phone" - this one's onto a loser though, battery no real improvement, but more "guff" = tied to the wall. Also - no keys = bad nooz for ol fatfinger here

You don't have a Smartphone Tom! Wow that does shock me! I thought with all the technology in Smoothwall Towers you'd have been a gadget king! Please don't say you still have a Nokia 3110 hehe

Not hugely surprising. He did do his presentation from a notepad at the Edugeek Conference... Its refreshing to see someone actually thinking about what they need rather than buying into the crowd mentality that is so common now. I've got staff who can barely use computers who've bought iPhones but don't use anything more than the phone/texting aspects...

Not quite it's a 6xxx, and the battery lasts next to forever, and it makes calls and texts. I *would* like to be able to do a bit more internetsy stuff on the move, but I am not willing to pay so high in battery life/size/touch-screen related irritation.

I look at some and think so what, you can play some stupid game about irritated avians, or update your facebook on the train - these are not use cases of a phone for me.

Edit: this does not mean I don't like gadgets.. but I am fussy. Canon 40D, Kindle, and squeezebox being my favoured electronic devices.

If you ever find your UTM starts sprouting features more suited to a breville sandwich maker, you will know I've gone "all iphone" ;)

@tom_newton: If you get that LG phone you'll score all manner of geek points for being able to say your phone has a dual core processor! We all know that geek points are what really matter - who needs to speak to people on their phone nowadays? :p

But Tom I already have that, I turn one upside down and squash it in the rack with a cheese and ham mix in-between bread and leave it for a few hours in the rack and voilla Smoothwall Toasted Sandwich courtesy of the CPU and the UTMs hehe

@Tom. You'll hate sharing a hotel with us 'geekers then. The first evening we are all together for BETT is, to the initiated, unofficially known as 'phone porn evening'. It really is quite a sight!

I wonder what the splits will be this year, we were fairly half and half last year with iPhones on one half and HTCs on the other half (various HTC that we had so some Android & Windows), I bet I am the only Windows phone user now Ric is an Android user :(

'sok, I quite like them as gadgets, but not as phones, is all. If I had the pocket space i'd take both :)
