Zoom7000 Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 What is the best designed website(s) you have ever come across? As corny as it sounds, I am quite impressed by the design of wwe.com. It just comes across to me personally as a webpage that has had some pretty decent coding behind it. Also quite impressive is the new sites that Microsoft usually churn out. Windowsvista.com being one of them. Office Live is also impressive. So what website(s) make you think "Damn, why can't that webmaster do my school webpage"

Amazon.com, that's got some funky code as I'm sure ebay does too. What ar ewe comparing them on? Looks or code sofistication.

As for the criteria for the webpage, whatever floats your boat really, looks, good coding, nice flash, just interested really!

I personally like the look of default plone, but it is a bit overdone.

Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox. I also tested it in Linux and Windows. It now works fine in all of them. I cannot think that 99% of my target audience will use anything else other then these. I believe it is almost fully compatible for those with disabilities, but this has yet to be fully tested. I will test it though and any problems I find will be fixed. I cannot see the point in going any further with the standards issue though because I cannot see it making any difference?

I think it's because (for those of us who work in LEA schools) we come under the local government umbrella, and like other publicly funded bodies, we have to provide things like, and this is stretching the comparison, the equivalent of wheelchair access.

Visitors from different sources. I get a fair bit of traffic from all over the place on my website. The hits come from various sources and it changes from day to day and week to week. Ryan Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 From a design and sheer usability point of view, i like Play.com, although they've changed it over the last few weeks and i'm still getting used to it. Regarding flash sites, i f*cking hate them, for a multitude of reasons.
