gl3nnym Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I wish I had three screens. Two just isn't enough anymore.
tmcd35 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I had five when I started here - I'm now down to 2 (by choice). Don't know what 5 screens says about the last incumbent...
localzuk Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I had five when I started here - I'm now down to 2 (by choice). Don't know what 5 screens says about the last incumbent... They enjoyed flight simulators? Although, I have 3 at the moment, and sometimes I wish I had 4...
tmcd35 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 They enjoyed flight simulators? . Thats one theory (not mine )... Actually I use a Ubuntu desktop so I have 4 virtual screens with 2 physical screens on each virtual screen. So I effectively have 8 screens in total. Does that mean I have a superiority complex? possibly!
Hightower Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I have two, but 2 screens are also lying spare and I would love to get my hands on a card that would boost my output to 4....
NikChillin Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I have four..... SLT called it GCHQ! heh heh
localzuk Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I have four..... SLT called it GCHQ! heh heh The office staff call my desk the bridge of the Enterprise. I reckon its just jealousy.
Gatt Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 The office staff call my desk the bridge of the Enterprise. I reckon its just jealousy. Wish I was on bridge of the Enterprise and had easy access to the Phaser Banks and the Transporter Systems.. would make life a bit easier.... Oh not to mention the Replicators (not the SG-1 kind tho!) and a Holodeck.... /GeekMode
AJRussell Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 i recently aquired a 3rd screen. now i am king of the land. i have wall brackets for 2 more but i need another graphins card for that.
Max_Power Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Ive put that comic strip on my wall this morning because it totally resembles my place of work. I have three screens but im not a queen.
it-hell Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Oh not to mention the Replicators (not the SG-1 kind tho!) and a Holodeck.... ahh but those can replicate people, you could replicate good staff/teachers and feed the rest to them as resources to remould
Gatt Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 ahh but those can replicate people, you could replicate good staff/teachers and feed the rest to them as resources to remould What are these "good teachers" that you speak of?!?
GrumbleDook Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I have up to 7 screens going ... laptop and extended desktop, council machine, graphics display screen, photo frame (yeah ... cheating perhaps), iPad and iPhone ... I do occasionally type on two keyboards at once as well ... frequently using two mice.

Arcath Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Actually I use a Ubuntu desktop so I have 4 virtual screens with 2 physical screens on each virtual screen. So I effectively have 8 screens in total. Does that mean I have a superiority complex? possibly! only 4 virtual desktops? 6 on both my netbook and net top plus my PC at home means i have 13 desktops i get annoyed using my puny one monitored windows machine having to have loads of programs on one desktop
GrumbleDook Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Yes, but you have to carry a rucksack just to carry around all your phones too! It was fun at Yesterday's session at MS in Reading ... the question came up about who was using what phone ... had to remember to put my hand down at the end of it.
glennda Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I currently have 4 - 2 on windows 2 on ubuntu sharing a keyboard and mouse using synergy so that i can just scroll across all four screens without changing mouse
p858snake Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I had five when I started here - I'm now down to 2 (by choice). Don't know what 5 screens says about the last incumbent... Compensating >.>
