Hi We have a 2008 R2 server which has the TS/RDS role added to it and we would like to use drive redirection to allow our thin clients to use memory sticks but for some reason the RDP client connection properties has Drive, windows printer, ltp port and com port disabled (greyed) and I can find no way to enable it. We did have a GP that turned those off but I have removed the GP and even moved the server to a different OU and it will still not let me uncheck those options. Using local policy with the specific gp options set to turn it on still wont work. I have also tried reinstalling the roles but still no success. Any ideas?

Hi We have DFS here which works well for xp client profiles/app data/my docs etc all using the netbios name of the domain. Randomly though windows 7 will get an access denied error for accessing those shares. If you log out and back in it seems to work though. DFS is 2008 r2 which is powered by a cluster 2008 fs. There are 2 dfs controllers as such and we dont use it for replication currently. Can anyone think of any reasons it would be random like this?

Hi Firstly I have seen the other threads about the joys of Windows 7 and printers, oh what fun.... We have our own problem with w7 drivers currently affecting the HP universal printer driver (5.1) for w7 x86 where it takes up to 2 mins to add a queue to windows per printer. The event log registers event id 1000 "Interactive Service Detection" as having a fault when trying to install the queue. It would also have this: in the entry but the weird thing is the printers would be added and you can print to them as far as I have tested. Not sure why it takes so long to install but it appears to be an issue with the UPD drivers from HP and causes the event 1000 to be raised. Any one have any possible suggestions or have experienced it before?
