Led Zep for me, I saw Fleetwood Mac at Wembley in about '91 but we were so far back it just didn't do anything. Like to see them again. Ohh Stevie Nicks is gorgeous! (and about 15 years older than me) I had tickets to see Madness back in the early days (79-80??) but when we got there - there was a big band of skinheads kicking the proverbial out of everyone - so did a runner before they came on - sad that I missed them now.
tmcd35 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Back on topic - I forgot another EPIC concert - Travis at Theford Forest in 2006 (I think - time flies!) The band started the concert by pushing their way through the crowd to get to the stage! I didn't realise what was going on until too late and was right in the path they were taking to the stage. I got thrown to one side by a bouncer while my brother was giving the lead singer a high-five! The actual concert itself was also first class all the way

LOL!!My daughter was in a simolar situation when I saw Mac, along with the River City People, & Jethro Tull. It does seem to have influenced her tastes too!

One person that was really good was Paul McCartney Also kings of leon are awesome
SpuffMonkey Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Deep Purple circa 1974 Saw Deep Purple in 74 too - my first ever gig (In Coventry) with Nazareth in support - Nazareth blew them off stage - though it was about a week before I could hear anything again...somewhat regret that now - as my hearing is shot after too many loud gigs

witch Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Domino: Frank Turner is my favourite singer - have seen him many times live SpuffMonkey: that must have been the same tour of Deep Purple (I saw them in London) but I dont remember Nazareth -mind you, I dont remember much from those days Forgot Reading Festival 1978 (highlight Sham 69) and Reading 1979 (Gillan, Gabriel, Cheap Trick, Steve Hackett,The Police - and best of all, The Ramones) Recently saw Biffy Clyro - was a good one

Best gig would probably be the 2002 homecoming tour where oasis played Manchester and Glasgow (they were discovered in glasgow) Played the barrowlands, to about 400 people.. Great gig.. Also, I went to every T in the Park from 1999-2008 inclusive, so have seen most of the best bands ive wanted to see.. the most memorable was travis in '00, when just before they started to play 'why does it always rain on me' it clouded over, and started raining.. good times.. garethEds Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I saw Elton John at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea a few years back but was not impressed with his live show. At the time I remember enjoying but it was the middle of summer so was very light. I like night concerts outside where the stage lighting can set atmosphere. Pink at the Liberty Stadium was also very good. Bands I wish I'd seen (or was old enough to see) - Queen and The Beatles. My parents saw The Beatles before they became the Beatles back in Rawtenstall Astoria many years ago. Gareth

Not cool perhaps but excellent show and knocked spots off Madonna. We parked behind the venue where all the tour buses were during the afternoon and she was practising. Amazing show. Gareth

Hes playing some strange places next year - including the Northampton Cricket ground - just a couple of streets away from my house - have to sit out in the garden that afternoon!

Not just because of the music, but because we were all given Lemon Jelly 'lucky bags' and played Lemon Jelly bingo before the gig started. They had the crowd playing a version of British bulldogs that involved lots of hugging.

Brillant festival for adults and kids. Going again this year Crowded house many moons ago
