Well they have a decentish doctype () and no other meta tags related to the product and then some terrible table coding so i'm guessing dreamweaver in WYSIWYG mode.

Don't shoot me down in flames but ............. I wonder if the head likes the 'child look' of the site, the menu and the drawing on the splash page. I suggested one of the edugeek joomla sites to our staff and they all thought it was too 'senior school' for us. Maybe there's a requirement for a primary school version of edugeek joomla.

 

 

The rest of the site leaves alot to be desired though!

My inner designer screams, serously its hard to come up with useful feedback with those primal pained tones echoing around. I do beleive that it may have been coded in crayons or possibly the later (but still primitave by todays standards) pencil. I mean really, it even has a counter.

 

I'd try to traceroute it but I'm afraid my packets would end up stranded in 1995.

 

 

I would mirror other comments about trying to go a different way for the back end and design. It is worth asking the person who suggested it exactly what elements they like because that could well for part of a good design breif allowing you to make constructive suggestions that are more likely to be accepted and supported.

Thanks Chrb and Synack - you both come up with very useful thoughts.

 

Thinking back to the conversation with my HT I remember she told me that the:eek2: site was one gaining favourable comments at an AREA HEAD'S meeting!!

 

I'll certainly go back to her trying to establish what it was they liked about it.

Only thing I liked was the use of pencils / crayon icons / images for the navigation buttons but as chrbb states the rest is questionable
