Just signed up to access the Orange network from my T-Mobile HTC Desire when there's no T-Mobile signal available. It'll be interesting to see how it works and if there are any problems.

The only thing that I don't like is that you have to turn data roaming on - I hope I remember to turn it off before I go abroad!

I've been waiting for this. Signal here in Norfolk on any network is very hit and miss. Be good to increase the odds on my iPhone getting a signal (so long as I don't tough the arial )

Wish 02 and another company would do something similiar - seeing as other companies are complaining about them merging what with having a much larger network now with better coverage etc - am sure if 02 and vodafone or the likes merged , reception would be a lot better as there have been a few places around the London area where I have lost signal completely with my 02 iphone 3G and 4 and it politely and frankly f*$ks me off !!!

I pay quite a lot for my tarrif and I can't get my phone to work as an actual phone when I need it - yet in peterborough area 02 are pretty good, would be nice for it to auto magically swap between providers if need be to get coverage.

I set mine up last night on the desire. Will have to see how well it works.

Its a shame that you only get access to the 2g network but its better than nothing.

I know when I go on holiday I hardly ever get signal on T-Mobile (especially wales) so im hoping this will help get signal out in the sticks, as my work phone on orange works perfectly pretty much everywhere I go!

Just had mine activated for this too a few days ago, but only because I'd said I wanted out of my contract due to bad signal.

Get it everywhere now Im set to the orange networks, they just need to activate this with the 3G networks rather than just the 2G networks now and no complaints from me :D

Does anyone know if this can be done on Virgin, who (I believe) lease from TMobile?

I don't think so as Orange and Tmobile have actually merged companies rather than just signal.

Might be worth giving them a call and asking though?
