dcdread Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Which mindmapping software you've used, if any? had a closer look at freemind (i don't want to hijack thread ), but I found mindjet mindmanager more friendly. It's also pretty easy to include new graphics and shapes in this one so it's great for personal learning mind-maps.
Sylv3r Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 We use Inspiration here - the kids and staff took to it pretty quickly. Inspiration Software, Inc. - The Leader in Visual Thinking and Learning | inspiration.com It also gets used quite a bit in a number of subjects mfl, business, it, re, history are the ones i've see using it but they maybe more.
Nemesis Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 We use Matchware's MindView BE which is used pretty much across the school. They also do a home licence deal where students can buy the software at around 10% of the purchase price. We went for the BE edition as it also allows Gantt Charts etc to be created so it can be used both in lessons and for project planning etc.
Ric_ Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 We just use Freemind here but there doesn't really seem to be a lot of demand for mindmapping software. I guess it also comes down to whether you can justify the expense of paid-for software versus open source if there isn't much demand for those extra features.
K.C.Leblanc Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 We have all three is various places, don't think any get much use.
Brandrune Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Here, we have MindManager 8. Great application with features for more basic or more advanced users.
p858snake Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I {attempted/used} Inspiration as a student. I use Dia these days for the limited amount of times I need to make a diagram, It's not as flashy and colourfull as Inspiration but it's opensource (and theres a portable version already packaged on portableapps) and it is fairly easy to use.

john Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 We have Freemind on the system never seen it used myself but you never know it maybe used
