We currently run a powerpoint presentation to show students the status of repairs and when their laptop is ready for collection from the ICT support team. We have a monitor mounted in a foyer for students to view. This is monitor is linked to a computer running a powerpoint presentation.

We are currently having to stop the powerpoint and edit when the status of a repair changed. This is about 10-15 changes a day, each time having to vnc to the computer running the presentation and editing the file.

Is there a way to edit a powerpoint presentation that is running and make it auto-refresh containing the changes. If not possible via powerpoint is there another solution?

Many Thanks

A browser based solution would probably be a better option. You should be able to throw together a bit of html and code to read the "Repair" status from a text file and refresh this every 30mins or so. Google is your friend!
