[DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072030): There is no such object on the server.]

Not 100% sure but it looks like the object (most likely a particular user) cannot be found on the domain you have specified. I would check that you have put the correct DOMAIN\username and password and that your LDAP Settings are correct.

Would it be the particular user that I am logging in with (ie: the domain admin)? Cos that doesn't make too much sense ... from reading throught he rest of this thread I've got the domain & username & password & LDAP settings correct ...

Also staff users in the staff ou listed in the exception

[Exception: LDAP://DC3.beausandver.local/OU=Staff,OU=Beaumont,DC=beausandver,DC=local]

can access the booking module ... its just the domain admin (in a different location that cannot.

this maybe a missconfig by me

But when using HTTPS with IE i cant download files ? just gives me a timeout type message .. Firefox works fine .

Http works fine on both Browsers .. for the time being im using HTTP and set AD logins with a Max amount of login attempts set to 5

I'm pretty sure that if you specify an OU in LDAP Path that, that's where the query starts when looking for users, if your domain admin was in the 'staff' OU or below you would find it would work (maybe worth a test)

Ours here does not specify an OU (although we only use the home access part not the booking etc) our LDAP Path looks like:

LDAP://mgmtcore.st-thomasmore.walsall.gov.uk/dc=st-thomasmore,dc=walsall,dc=gov,dc=uk

obviously with it setup like this anyone would be able to get at your bookings but you may be able to lock it down using NTFS

Just an FYI to everyone. I've released an update to HAP this weekend. If you don't set Home Drives in AD, HAPs My School Computer browser should now work.

Other Updates include a speed boost to the silverlight my computer browser when it loads each file, and auto pruning of the Booking System XML database

Playing with current version via IE8:

- With the non-enhanced file browser, when I hit Upload I get an alert box displaying "https:\\server\Extranet\Upload\"

- Should the List view mode display them in a vertical list, one folder/file per line? If so it's not doing that (they're all one one line and disappear off to the right)

The Alert Box was fixed in 5.4.4.

The 2nd thing, hmm, attached is an image of my list view in basic

Hi All,

We are running a CC4 network. We have HAP+ 5.4.4 running on our FRS where our Easylink is also run from. HAP+ is working great and have the Logon Tracker setup on the network as per the installation/setup video. It appears to be running fine on the workstations. However, the Logons are not being tracked. The Live page show "No data was found" and this Historic page doesn't show any of our logons only the 1 record that was prepopulated by Nick. I have put exclusions in the firewall for the hap+ exe but this still does not populate any data in the Logon Tracker log.

Has anyone got any suggestions for me to try??

Regards,

David

Is it possible to create a landing page that has a login box so that we can direct staff to a page to log in externally?

We use ISA2006 with Forms Based Authentication enabled to do this. may be a route to go if you have that facility :)

Rigght got it installed CC4 network but installed on standard server 2008 box and can browse the folders but if we try and access any files we get 404 error.

First of all let me say that so far this software looks fantastic! Unfortunately I am running into a little problem. I went through all the config and logged on just fine. Good stuff! I then tried to run HAP Config.exe to go through and change all the little settings to make drives/booking etc work correctly. I edited a few things but upon clicking Finish I get an unhandled exception (error which is below). If I click Continue then nothing happens, if I click Close then the .exe closes. When I opened HAP Config.exe again none of the settings were saved. Without changing anything, I clicked through and upon clicking Finish I get the same error. Seems I cannot use HAP Config.

************** JIT Debugging **************

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

application or computer (machine.config) must have the

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

The application must also be compiled with debugging

enabled.

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

rather than be handled by this dialog box.

That error is down to the OU object not existing on the server. The error message tells you about this.

im Glad you updated with the Homedrive issue .. Was i the only person who noticed it ?

Good job with this BTW .. Ive modified the layout for my school to match our colours and layout etc

@nickbro - I have tried changing the OU path using the HAP Config tool but it refuses to save when I click Finish. It looks like this tool is not working on my system (even though it did work the first time I run it). I have now instead manually edited the web.config file and got it working through that. I am not good with this web development stuff so please excuse my dumbness.

Love the software! Credit to the developer :-D

Hi there, just managed to get this working after a bit of editting (although had to do some big changes with the authentication). For some reason I could not get the basic authentication to work, error codes every single time the same as stuartwilkie's message earlier in the thread. I have changed to using Windows Authentication and now it works!! Is this OK? Am I breaking major rules doing this?

My question is, how can I add a feature to update the email address box if I limit it to staff and students?

Loving it so far though, just working on IT room booking facility :)

No you are not breaking the rules, well done for getting windows authentication to work, I never could.

I don't know about the email address. What happens is it will update the students email address with the studentemailformat when the save. Replacing {0} with their username.

We can't afford exchange cals for everyone so have limited it to staff only. Students run hmailserver with roundcube front end

Hi, thanks for the response. Just realised though from reading my first post that I actually asked the wrong question! What I would like to be able to do is have Administrators and Staff be able to update their email address but hide that feature from students. The reason for this is that our ISP provides seperate usernames and passwords to log onto the internet/email that bear no resemblance to our Domain logon names :( I would like staff to be able to enter their emails so that they receive confirmation when they book resources (I know this will work because I tried it as me). Is it easy to add some code to do this?

Look under homepage links. The Update My Details entry, you can add showto="" in there

Hi, iv almost got the home access fully configured, the only problem im having is when i click on the mapped network drive it comes up saying Error:Unauthorised access.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Posted

I found this was due to an extra backslash on the end of the mapped drive location that wasn't needed eg:

\\server\share\ is incorrect

\\server\share is correct

Otherwise there's the regular permissions, security group issues detailed in previous posts
