Still running into the problem with IE when trying to download any file:

Downloads work fine in Chrome, FF and Safari but IE complains :confused:

If anyone has any ideas then any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks

OK yes, ISA does function as a reverse proxy.

I wasn't able to get it working in that way - what I found was that downloads were truncated (large files had the last few kB missing, while small files came down completely empty). I ended up deploying it in onto a server with a direct port mapping from the public facing IP. It wasn't my preferred option but it was better than not having it at all.

Just noticed the enhanced version on our's is now not working or is very slow. You choose the enhanced option, it appears to load the folder structure, but then just the "My School Computer" link shows in the top left of the tree view. If you wait about 30 seconds the rest then may show or sometimes not. This is odd considering this part especially was lightning fast when I first installed it.

Students are known to be impatient and assume it isn't working thus telling me as much!

Also a mapped drive on a member server (non DC) has suddenly stopped working with access denied errors now - again this worked fine initially and nothing that could affect that has changed..

The network path was not found.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.IOException: The network path was not found.

The errors seems to suggest either it can't find the server or the name/link has changed? The server is our intranet server.

Was hoping there would be a simple(!) fix... oh well, thanks for the help AT it is much appreciated :)

okay i have just found that this only happens with my support drive i have created. I want only Domain Admins to access it, if i add an extra group in called admins, and then set write permissons to All i can get it working, but shouldn't it work with just domain admins in both?

am i doing something wrong here or should this work without recieving the error above

With the teachertest account it works, i can browse documents and download them etc.

Wit hthe testteacher account i can browse the folders, access extranet etc but i simply can't download any documents.

Ahhh i found the problem with that one, testteacher didn't have a H: drive mapped in AD whereas my setup is set to include the home folders every time, with H: set to "local path" but with the path blank it wouldn't allow downloads of documents.

Hi Guys,

This may sound like an odd one but I have implemented HAP (superb by the way) and although all the file permissions are correct I have a number of folders that are set to restricting the administrators (myself and my team) from viewing. As a student or member of staff restrictions apply successfully but as an administrator it doesn’t seem to carry the same access restrictions across to HAP, so I am able to access folders that management would prefer I didn’t have immediate access to. Are there some settings I have missed that will stop administrators from overriding the restrictions imported from the server?

Hello,

I used HAP on our network for some time, recently had problems with access, so wanted to try newest version - not sure if what I did was right :D

Just copied content off old version to different folder (for backup) and paste the new version, tweaked web.config to our settings. An now got this:

Server Error in '/extranet' Application.

Any chance you can help Nick?

An excerpt from the M$ website is below

     cookieless="UseUri"
   requireSSL="true"
   enableCrossAppRedirects="true" />

A guess may be a corrupt download - or a find & replace gone wrong (maybe)

HTH anyway :)

Morning All,

I have HAP up and running with no problem but as soon as I attempt to enable Forms Authentication I am gettting errors. I have it running on IIS7 (adapted the steps from the youtube video setting it up on IIS6) so I am unsure if there is anything I need to do different. It is stating "Could Not Load Type 'CHS_Extranet.Login'" so I think it is something relatively simple but I am rubbish with ASP so I am completely stumped.

can anyone help me out please?

Since Forms Auth carries major security risks, it was dropped as a supported auth type
