Sharing mobile broadband across two laptops - possible?

I am looking to buy a mobile broadband dongle to use when out and about caravaning. However, I want to connect up two laptops. Is there any way to share the connection across two laptops? I was thinking of possibly using a USB hub, and connecting both laptops to that? Would that work?

Any other ideas, or do I just have pay out and buy two dongles?

Good idea, but both laptops are Windows XP

A MiFi-style modem would probably be your best option. Three have the Huawei E5830 for £49.99 on Pay-As-You-Go which looks like a pretty good deal if you only intend to use it occasionally.

 

There are also various apps which turn a smartphone into a wireless router. There's WMWiFiRouter for Windows Mobile devices and Android has this feature built-in with the latest v2.2 update.

Enable internet connection sharing on the 3G connection from "Network Connections" which is found in "Control Panel"

then set up a Ad-Hoc network between the two either wired or wireless. Works perfect. That's how I do it
