Parking Fine

Hi all last week I got a £30 parking Fine for this! a offense code 151

I'm appealing against it. Am I in the wrong?

Unneccessary/willfull obstruction is code 151.

 

When they issue parking tickets they have to take pictures too I think so I'd ask for them to supply those images.

I can't see what's behind you - is there a drive? Having said that, I can't see a dropped curb. Are you parked opposite a drive?

Can't see why you'd get a ticket, but how come there's no-one else is parked nearby? Were there any roadworks going on?

what was the other side of the picture ie. what is on the pavement etc. From the picture you have done nothing wrong however it is not possible to be certain that there were no signs warning about parking due to works etc

there isnt a dropped curb or anything its just the yellow lines are faded soo much you cant see them with the naked eye

Those look like the markings outside a school etc. As one traffic warden put it - crocodile teeth...

Even if there is a parking prohibition in place the road markings need to be in a serviceable condition. They quite clearly aren't.

 

Appeal it, and make a formal complaint.

looks like your on old yellow zigzags but as theyre eroded so much i would appeal, take lots of photos of the road showing how badly faded the yellow line is, i beilve if its bad enough and the line is broken, they cannot enforce it.

It was a zig zig line millions of years ago! but the council has never repainted it, there is no signs up or anything like that. yes it is in front of the school but i have been at this school for 2.5 years and no has been done over until now

From wht i've read (here - Fight your parking ticket - how to appeal your fine | This is Money and Parking Ticket Appeals: Fight unfair council parking tickets...) road signs and marking MUST be visible - if they are obstructed or not clearly visible then you can appeal

I had a successful appeal against parking on double yellow lines that had not been repainted after the road had been dug up. The responsibility to maintain the road markings to an acceptable standard lies with the local authority. The standard approach is to issue a fine and wait to see if the person appeals. If they don't appeal then the LA is the winner and many peopl eare to unsure of their rights to actually go through with an appeal

Appeal, there's reams of legislation about how signs and roadmarkings must be displayed. Even down the the width of the paint stroke, if anything isn't right the ticket should not stand.

before appealling you need to be sure there are signs on the school fence or wall highlighting that there are parking restrictions. If there is a sign then you may find that the fine is applicable even though the markings have been removed due to raod works
