Why did the woman run across the level crossing?

To get to the chip shop on the other side probably.

It's not just the woman with the pram there's another pedestrian and cars crossing with the lights going too!

@witch; *scolds gently * we are all taught not to cross once the lights start flashing - you never can be sure of a train's speed. They got away with it... but I stick with my word "madness" (Your "stupid" is equally applicable though!)

I like the way she pushes the pram out into the road near the car as well, just to make sure that she puts her child in the most amount of danger possible. Worrying really.

The issue for me is the pram. She can prat around with her own life if she wants, but pushing a pram across rail lines? Who's to say that a wheel wouldn't get stuck somehow, or the pram topple over etc...

and if they are anything like the level crossing round here they come down a long time before a train and stay down for 5+mins if another train is apparently anywhere on the line

They also have to think about the people on the train / actually stopping if they get splatted then everyones gonna be late for work
