Actually that can be useful in some cases... but not usually for paramedics... Although they do get training on how to restart the equipment, then send them onto the manufactures repair center...

Congrats mate. How did this come about? Is the pay good enough to want to change (as I'm always looking for a change - was gonna join the Navy but the wife wouldn't allow it. She said I could join the Specials as a compromise).

It's something I've wanted to do for ages but it's waiting for the posts to come up and come up at the right time. That finally happened so I went for it, the pay is ok (well once i've qualified it's a big drop while training) but there's scope to progress throughout the trust, to community paramedic and ECP, etc
