Edu-IT Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 come abit late for myself really. Thanks anyway What do you mean? Looking good! Shame I can't be there. Will it be streamed?
sparkeh Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 What do you mean? Perhaps he means that for some people, who have to justify trips out to the management, the topics of the conference were not announced in time to arrange things?

It is a shame, but we can't publish speakers until they have finally confirmed with us first.

vikpaw Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Is there the possibility of an e-place? I'd love to hear from Will/Tom/Capita/well, all of them to be honest. Somebody's recording it all right?
SYNACK Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Somebody's recording it all right? With an external microphone so that it is audible over the CPU fan :D
GrumbleDook Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 With an external microphone so that it is audible over the CPU fan :D I'll bring my spare one if needed.
Dos_Box Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 I think Ric\Russ is sorting out a live stream and recording. We'll put it on our YouTube account as long as the camera used has a common file format (I'm looking at you here Russ ) In fact my brother has a HD camera. If I just ask him nicely.......
GrumbleDook Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 For a cheap and easy stream then twitcam is your friend ... Preload the slides onto slideshare so people can follow it they go along.

Cool, I look foward to seeing the presentations For a cheap and easy stream then twitcam is your friend ... Preload the slides onto slideshare so people can follow it they go along. You could also use the broadcast slideshow bit in PowerPoint 2010 to do this quite easily.
GrumbleDook Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Tony - you should know better Geeks doing it the easy way? And being organised! Si Twitcam, flashmeeting, justin.tv, slideshare ... all simple tools that kids can use.
carvjo Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 With the current government likely to scrap BECTA and it's FITS stuff and BSF also for the chop - won't the speakers be a bit light on material now?
GrumbleDook Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 The FITS Foundation is a separate body run as a not-for-profit group and will not be affected by any changes other than possible changes to the Governing Body which contains reps from Becta. BSF is run through Partnership for Schools, but Becta's input into the educational technology aspect is quite large, so it may be that some of that is brought 'in-house' by PfS ... it all depends on the future structure of BSF, not to do with Becta.

Tony you say kids can use them, but I thought were were all supposed to be adults and you know how adults and technology mix Ive got a pair of super sized Sony HD Camcorders and suitably huuuge tripods for them and a Mic on a biiiiig boom, some smaller camcorders and other bits and bats if you needs them
