Paper Manufacturer Launches "Print More" Campaign

"Domtar, a major North American paper manufacturer, has launched an advertising campaign to encourage people to print more documents on paper.

 

Domtar CEO John Williams opposes campaigns by other companies asking employees to be responsible with what they print.

 

'Young people really are not printers. When was the last time your children demanded a printer?' Mr. Williams said ... 'We've got to do some work about having them believe and feel that printing isn't a sort of environmental negative.' The industry expects that, absent this campaign, paper demand will decrease by 4% annually.

 

Williams's comments did not go down well in some environmental circles."

Our kids print loads I do to, but 90% of it is to PDF, I hate paper docs. His comments certainly are a bit unwise.

my advise....as there is a UK paper shortage ( we have had to stop taking bulk orders)....print less!!!!!!

It was pointed out to me recently that recently the car companies have suddenly made cars a hell of a lot more economical and using varous newly discovered technologies seem to be stickign 2 fingers up to the long talked about unwritten agreements with the oil industry.

Anyone would think they'd been sitting on them of all of this time!

Know why car companies are failing to break the electric vehicle market? Batteries.. they just don't do what's needed, and guess who own the majority of patents regarding batteries? The oil industry

No, they own the battery patents to impede development. You have a choice; Hydrogen, Bio-Fuels, Petrol or Batteries, all four are controlled by the same industry. Hence, all these cell batteries and the likes, trying to create a battery that will do the job needed without infringing patents. It's all in the public domain
