We've took the (slightly unusual) step of combining our website content onto our new Moodle VLE platform as I couldn't see the point of having 2 separate web entities and I think we've prettied up our Moodle sufficiently to do the marketing side of things as well as the learning environment

Also works quite well as a method of getting people used to the interface before going on their course!

Any feedback from fresh eyes would be great... can you find where to go to get info on courses, where to get a map of our centre etc...

i really like it - Moodle has a habit of looking old and tired but that themes really nice and fresh.

Are the 'standard' pages just course with all the weeks turned of?

Yup it's a 1-topic course with guest access on and the topic hidden (just using the intro section)

Had to do a lot of theme tweaking, Photoshopping and icon browsing to get the fresher look... glad it's working so far

when i hover over a menu item the background moves up and down

looks good though

using win 2000 ie6

that will be the problem not your site

Yup I know all about IE6, what a nightmare browser :p

Had to rewrite the menu to display at all in IE6, the aardvark theme ours is based on doesn't work on 6 at all but I figured the slight flicker \ background bounce is acceptable on such an old browser, hence the browser detection message a bit further down hehe

Does it say what category of offensiveness we've fallen into lol?

doesnt say, unfortunately the filter they use is naff, sometimes we get the red screen telling us why the site is blocked but 99% of the time we get a white page with no message, which is what im getting today.

Haha quality, I bet it's the "Adult" in our title that's done it!

Reminds me of when I was leaving my last job to come here years ago, told them I was going to an Adult Education college to which the reply was "do they do film courses" :p

for the IE 6 issue my new theme uses this:

Pushuptheweb.com

Stops having the code for such a horrible browser and also helps make the web a safer place

How I wish I'd knew about that before spending ages on if statements and css trickery to do my browser detection block!

Just added the code in and it works nicely, should be enough of a hint to stop using IE6 for anyone still with it

That's odd, seems to be working for me on Orange 3G

The migration is complete and it's now our live site :D

Added a few extras onto it as well now, OWA link in the top login section and a Moodle Bar addon for the bottom... so far so good :)

Most likely how its meant to be with ref to the ispy live posts bit , however when I click on it and it keeps moving posts down, most of the time I see one and it keeps moving them down so I don't have a chance to click on it and I find it annoying. Don't suppose there is a preference so that it just loads all of them as they are without moving them down.

Other then that the rest is great

Not loading at all for me in either Chrome or IE8 - just a blank page.

Intrigued at @flake's block report "policy: PontelandHigh" - that's the name of a school in Northumberland. Is the filtering company blocking your site because Ponteland requested it or is their school site and others like it blocked??

Looks good, though I can't help but wonder whether it may be a little too crowded in places? Also, I'd fix up the domain so that it works without the www, not allowing www-less access generally annoys people to no end (why do we even use that any more?).

It's moved from development to live, the original vle. link no longer works.
