IT_Master Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Morning Website Gurus. Im a noob to web development but so far Im catching on very fast. Im creating my very own website, Xternal IT - External IT Support Throughout the West Midlands. Its not finished cos time is limited. Can someone have a look and tell me if its crap or it look ok-ish? Regards PS: validator.w3.org found alot of errors, but Ill sort that later lol.
mb2k01 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Honestly? There isn't much to see. A homepage with multiple code errors and dead links. Design wise it is ok-ish. Perhaps post back when complete so we can give a better critique.... if Mods allow it, as I would have thought this is technically unauthorised advertising.
IT_Master Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 Thanks for looking. I'll add more stuffs to the homepage. By the way, I'm not advertising, I hope the mods could see it that way. Thanks again for looking. I'll get to wrk now.
powdarrmonkey Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 You've tagged this thread PHP, does that mean you want a design review or a code review?
IT_Master Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 It's called AnyThingSlider. Got my stuff from Tutorialzine - PHP MySQL jQuery CSS Tutorials, Resources and Freebies. Loving the jquery thingy lol
powdarrmonkey Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 You'll have to publish the PHP source somewhere then if you want it reviewed

localzuk Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 The links in the tabs at the top only link when clicking on the text, rather than the entire tab. Could be an issue I'd say.

webman Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Make your mind up whether you are an 'I' or a 'We' - you use both in different bits of text.
witch Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 (edited) Hi Daveyon Looking good - but some of your phrasing and grammar is a bit suspect. I am happy to review it anytime if you would like, but here is a start: "Not having an internal IT technician can be stressful when you are dealing with technology issues. That's where Xternal IT comes in. I can manage your infrastructure and computers at reasonable rates that will delight you. I can also supply Dell products at the fraction of the prices charged by most resellers. In the 'home support' bit, it should be 'slowly', not slow. Over-the-phone should be hyphenated. In the 'business support' bit, it should be 'advice' and 'incorporate'. 'What you need to get in place' doesnt make sense - do you mean: what systems you need to put in place your or something like that. As I said, I am happy to review any text so that it looks as professional as possible. I expect you still have my email address, so please send anything you would like me to look at Edited March 14, 2010 by witch

Ben-BSH Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 (edited) This may just be me, but it seems to be a lot on the eyes, I don't know where to look. Then again, I'm a sucker for a clean crisp site, so perhaps ignore my 2c. and also: Microsoft Windows Blue Scree Of Death Computer Take Long To Load On Start Up Hope this is taken as it is meant, Constructive Criticism Edited March 15, 2010 by Ben-BSH Added more
danrhodes Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Microsoft Windows Blue Scree Of Death Computer Take Long To Load On Start Up And Also Please Stop Putting Capital Letters For Every Word You Type! It's a sentence not a list of words.
