Hightower Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Everyone seems to be getting new signature logos, so I decided to make my own over lunch. 2
featured_spectre Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) Hopefully you will see my artwork all over the site soon enough I redesigned the flags Example of them (at 128x128) http://www.1st-cav.org/United-Kingdom.pnghttp://www.1st-cav.org/Bedfordshire.png They will be scaled down to 32x32 For Example http://www.1st-cav.org/United-Kingdom32.pnghttp://www.1st-cav.org/Bedfordshire32.png Edited March 8, 2010 by featured_spectre
powdarrmonkey Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Great. Your (collective) flashy signature logos are burning my eyes and my bandwidth budget. Thanks.

DaveMurphy Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) looking good xD! Edited March 8, 2010 by DaveMurphy 1
6Foot2 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I think I will stick with what I have as I am not too good with graphics packages and I do not feel inspired. Need some originality to get a good result.
alan-d Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I'm going to fire up MS Paint tonight. Flash git! I got some new crayons 1
featured_spectre Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 sorry sysman, i saw the flags were looking rather drab, and needed updating to go along with current graphics, so I did the lot, and asked Zero Hour and Dos Box on there thoughts. Zero Hour seemed most impressed and said it would go on Perhaps we could do a joint venture?
powdarrmonkey Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I don't understand why we need glossy shiny flags At least the current ones look like the real thing (you could add some flappy bits, I suppose).
K.C.Leblanc Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) Excellent stuff. I kinda did feel a bit out of place when I first choose a graphical sig. EDIT: Although if there isn't anything in the rules (and there wasn't when I last looked) the Mod Squad need to put their noggins together and have a thunk about a size limit, before we have any silliness. They looked outdated (in my opinion) compared to the rest of the site. I thought having them as orbs would look cool, and having spoken to some of the admins, they agreed.
Edu-IT Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I don't understand why we need glossy shiny flags At least the current ones look like the real thing (you could add some flappy bits, I suppose). They're in with the keeping of the site. Everything else is flash and glossy so why not!
Arcath Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I don't understand why we need glossy shiny flags At least the current ones look like the real thing (you could add some flappy bits, I suppose). cause they dont look "web 3.14159265" i think we are at that version....

Down to important matters, does the circle leave enough room to distinguish between the New Zealand and Australian flags which are not as symmetrical
AyatollahPies Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Everyone seems to be getting new signature logos, so I decided to make my own over lunch. Here's me hoping you had a huge guy in a Police Academy uniform. 2
K.C.Leblanc Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Currently being discussed. 70px / 75px is a possible limit. I would prefer 75.
featured_spectre Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Down to important matters, does the circle leave enough room to distinguish between the New Zealand and Australian flags which are not as symmetrical Not entirely, however all flags have been centred, unless they are similar (like the AUS and NZ) in which case it was moved to adjust and allow disagregation http://www.1st-cav.org/Australia.png http://www.1st-cav.org/New-Zealand.png
CHR1S Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 cause they dont look "web 3.14159265" i think we are at that version.... Mmmmmm Web Pie Gaharahahhhhhhhhh
SYNACK Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 It does indeed http://www.1st-cav.org/Australia.png http://www.1st-cav.org/New-Zealand.png Glad to see the blue fixed up a bit but I don't think that the circle does them justice as it clipps an aweful lot out
elsiegee40 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Can anyone explain why the Bedfordshire flag has scallop shells on it? It is after all a land-locked County (IIRC I don't think there are scallops in the fishing lake in Ampthill!)
