We keep getting blocked by BGFL filters randomly. Usually when selecting new posts. The message is;

Request Blocked by Generic Body Filter

Your request to URL "http://www.edugeek.net/forums/search.php?searchid=1484857" has been blocked by the Webwasher Generic Body Filter. The document was classified as Override Block which is not allowed by BGfL filtering policy at this time.

Is this a rouge post issue or our beloved ISP?

I've been getting the exact same message.

I went to log the call with Link2ICT and then when the tech remoted in to have a look it worked! Grrrr.

I'm guessing something is up at there end.

I noticed it too and just thought it was a glitch. Clearly it has to be BGFL as they manage Webwasher. You would of thought Edugeek would be put on a whitelist, but there you go!

Our ISP do the filtering here via Webwasher too, but have given us rights to change filtering so we can unblock sites and such.

Comes in handy at times :)

If I click on the 'Security' link in the main forum index or within the new post page I get blocked but if I click on a thread within the Security forum it lets me read it.

However I can't check all the threads because if I click on page 2 of 'New Threads' it blocks me again.

I'm guessing it is a post edited sometime today that it doesn't like in the Security forum.

PS - Behind the Red door works fine :D

People post known proxy lists in that forum dont they.

That would get it blocked.

Nope still blocked - but i can't view any of the threads either.... the hackers in education one or the proxy sites. (iSpy has just died for me too :()

Renamed another thread now. I wonder if the update file ispy pulls was blocked due to a reply coming in. Does anyone have any contacts at BGFL to inquire?

I think it is related to the prxy site thread. I was blocked from this thread as soon as i posted my last post till you posted so think it doesn't like that word.

EDIT: Can now see the security forum but not that thread.

Birmingham schools don't have such luxury. I think they can only do this through the Policy Central management console which is unreliable and doesn't always work.

Webwasher does pro-active scanning of the html code looking for common fragments that are used in bypass sites and there are at least 3 mentions of such things on the topic list - this would trip the filters.
