You Tube as been working for some time, however since last week I am getting a number of complains from teachers that they are the following message:

"Hello, either you have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player"

JavaScript is ON and the most recent version of the Flash Player is installed on all machines.

Can anyone help me out?

I'm sure I remember seeing this a while ago and it was to do with the proxy we were using at the time (CLEO Cachepilot) - may be similar to your problem.

You're not still using IE6 are you? Pretty sure they've dropped / are dropping support for it at YouTube soon.

Edit: Won't be IE6 - they're dropping support on March 13th.

Have you logged onto the machine in question and checked the flash player version? We have had problems with some MSI's which have the flashplayer ocx in the MSI and overwrite the new one with version 6!!

Smells like a proxy issue to me- check that you have whitelisted all YouTube domains and not just YouTube.com (IIRC at least ytimg.com was also required, although I can't check at work).

We have this issue and it appears at any time.

We find it is down to a change the Grid (providing your internet) have made a change and there is nothing you can do your end to correct it. Best to contact the grid though to sort it out, log your issue.

We do find that Firefox works even when IE doesn't, not sure why,
