Hi Guys,

Can I ask which version of Windows 7 people are using to image? We have received a Windows 7 disk as part of our School Agreement but it is an Upgrade disk - as such I cannot get any machines to boot from it.

Is this the same with everyone else? I'm trying to make a clean machine here so I can sysprep etc etc.

Any advice appreciated,

Gareth

It seems not, i did not get a Full Install Disk either.. i am not on a SA just yet but i just got the Upgrade Disk Also.

I Downloaded the ISA from the Licence Service Centre, you should probably do the same ;)

The schools agreement is based on the assumption that the machines you purchase already have a valid copy of Windows (as it is part of the T&C of the agreement).

That is why you only get an upgrade disc - you should have got some sort of media with the machines you bought (although it was probably a system restore disk or something similar)

Just to add, you can use the boot.wim, install.wim, and Windows 7 "Product".clg files with WDS to install using PXE, and WDS.

We have the same upgrade disk for Win 7 Pro (x86) and have successfully made a machine unattend install, just having a problem logging on after doing a domain join at present (something about a trust relationship) but so far its great!
