Hi

A few years ago I was given a piece of freeware which I thought was excellent but now can’t find it anywhere or remember what it was called.

Basically you installed it and it scanned your hard drive and showed in boxes on a screen the size of the folders in relation to how many GB was in each one. It just made things so easy. I'm currently hunting on our server where someone has managed to take up about 20GB of disc space. I just can’t find it! My guess is someone with a lovely 12MP camera has stuck her photos somewhere!!

Anyone have any ideas or seen something that resembles what I'm talking about?!?!

I had a nice simple one in Win98 days that I can't remember the name bit it started with a D i think.

I liked it cause it quickly showed a pie chart and then you just drilled down to see where the big files were hiding.

Can't find it now :(

regards

Hard Core people use dir /s lol

With a bit of perl to produce a nice summary, sorted so you can quickly see the big space hogs :-)

Forgot to say yesterday but the nice thing about JDiskreport is that it's in Java so it's pretty much multi-platform - means you don't have to learn new ways of working for each machine you use or, to quote the web site "This is ad-free uncrippled no-charge binary multi-platform software that never expires." which sounds good to me!
