Could you put a caption under the Bett Stand Cam pic on the front page to give us all a clue who everyone is? I can remember some of them but don't know others. Thanks.

Give that man a Gold Sticker ;P. BTW Kim I was most disapointed that I didn't manage to meet you, next week you should be down all week :p The only day I wasn't in was your day, and despite trying I didn't manage to borrow those 2 nice sunrays :( Hope they got back safe and well with the Smoothwall Gaffa tape :)

Hmmm...bit of a cheek from someone who wishes to be SO anonymous that their badge read:

Tech Nician instead of a name!!:D

*thanks Kim - I see even people who don't know me, know me!

Please note that I asked for User names not real-life ones, but it's nice to be remembered. Yes I try to protect my name, especially when I know that it's going to be "zapped" into numerous mailing databases. (I signed the card with my real name though)

Yes, I know you asked for usernames - I was joking!!

Don't blame you about keeping your name out of it - I thought it was a really clever idea :)

Have to agree. I think there will be an extended Nician family at BETT next year - you could find you have many cousins leco :D

Hey would love to have a huge family. Maybe there should be a prize for the most inventive forename?

Thanks guys and gals.

I've always thought that usernames should be something interesting, and NOT just your own name. After all, sometimes it is good to stay anonymous on the internet..bit late for me, on here, but you get the idea...

Interesting you should say that - I'm reading a book about the differences between our internet persona and our real life one. Anonymity on the net is not as prevelant as you might imagine.

I wouldn't assume anything you say/do online is annonymous, and act accordingly. As a bonus, sites like EduGeek can act as your online portfolio / CV - point potential employers to your profile to see how much knowledge you have about a given subject. I know that's a large part of the design and thinking behind StackOverflow - the site has just brought out a CV service, linked to your online profile, that allows people to search for developers with specific, provable expertise.

Most forums I use a relatively anonymous name. This one, however, as we are sponsors, I use my real name (and give my direct phone number). Some of our staff (Robot is our sysadmin, ipballe is in support) have "anonymousy" names.

Yes, I know it isn't completely anonymous for some people - but for me - I don't really have anything else out there except a locked-down facebook page.

There are lots of companies now that 'manage' your info in the world, specifically on the web but linking it with everything else including appearance and behaviour - they call it 'Personal Branding'
