matt40k Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 YaY!!! It's snowing, it's a good few inchs too!! Hopefully the buses won't run and I'll have a day off On the down side, no pizza hut tonight, hey ho, free pizza next time.
elsiegee40 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 It's just started to settle thickly in West Kent. Both my teens are hopeful that the last day at school will be off tomorrow. I've got a physio appointment I really need to get to tomorrow. Trouble is, I don't know if it's Kent's turn for the gritter tonight!
leco Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 All residential roads have pack snow on them, all major routes having been gritted are driveable. Pavements? Slippy and it's still coming down and freezing on impact. We've just driven home with the back brake frozen on (!!!) bit hairy going up a steep hill out of a camp site, but hey this is December in Yorkshire what more can we expect?
mikeglover Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 (edited) Clear nights sky in Northamptonshire here. No Snow. Edited December 17, 2009 by mikeglover
pete Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Snowing heavily here as well. *expects to get woken by a call from the head at stupid o'clock asking for a "we're closed, go away" sign to be hung on the website*

john Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Closed with us got the early wakeup call and done the website and phone system, I've been told that I sound half asleep on the Phone System - its two recorded messages merged so you get a generic welcome which I did in the middle of summer and then the one I did this morning off my mobile so I'm bright and chirpy then half asleep on the next bit lol
WStore_Dan Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Had to kick the girlfriend out of bed this morning to drive me 40 miles to work! I dont think riding in this would have been advisable!

Walking from the main building to one of the pre fab classrooms at the end of the playground. Had quite a bambies first steps look about it until I landed on my head

synaesthesia Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Northamptonshire is absolutely beautiful in parts in this weather. Woke up at 5:30 this morning to find a good 6-8inches and had to dig the car out with shovel. Love driving in the snow, it's a wonderful experience, just very wary of other drivers and the occasional lapse of concentration; similar to a roundabout near me that had 9 cars dotted around the outside with fronts/bonnets/bumpers/lids missing :/ Got to work after an hour and a half "drive" though, and watched it snow even heavier at times. Really is lovely and for the first time in years I feel that little bit more festive as a result.
