This has been bugging me for a while, and quite rightly as its our core switch I'm talking about. We have a Procurve 5406zl, and its currently running without a UPS  since the power connecter has a 'notch' in it, and none of our cables will fit.

I'm sure you can buy leads with this on one end for use with a UPS, I just dont know what the proper name for it is, can anyone help?

We've got a HUGE box full of cables. If you can perhaps post a picture of the connector, then I'm sure I can find you one if that helps. I think I have an idea of what you mean but can't be sure.

What you're looking for is a C15/C16 IEC cable. It's the same as the normal C13/C14 IEC cable (commonly referred to as a kettle lead :) ), but is rated to 120C rather than 70C.

I got some very short C15/C16 leads with a HP PDU unit but trying to find others has been a nightmare! If you do find someone that stocks them let me know :)

Have a look at [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_connector[/ame] for some more info.

You need a C14 to C15 Jumper Cable. I think the part number is 8121-1093. The hp ones are £40!!!!

I got mine off Lanway but had to wait ages for them.
