I have been wondering this for a while, and i am hoping someone knows how i can do this or if it is even possible, I use a Dual Screen Setup at work and it annoys me sometimes having the taskbar only on the one screen so i was wondering if it is possible to stretch the taskbar so it also appears on the 2nd monitor?

I know this is possible with XP if you get some 3rd party Apps, and i have seen someone use it on Vista... but i was hoping Windows 7 might actually just give you this feature.. or do you have to download another 3rd party app? and if so is it free? and if so :p can i have a link please? :D

Cheers,

James.

Rather than extended your desktop onto the second monitor you could stretch it instead. I can do it through the ati catalyst control thingy. Has its disadvantages though as things dont automatically resize to fit one screen.

providing you have an ATI graphics card :-) which i think i do.... something to look at i suppose. Extending it is good though :-) and dont have any disadvantages apart from the stoopid taskbar staying on the primary monitor.

My understanding is most Vista applications should work on Windows 7 automatically, so I wouldn't worry too much whether Windows 7 is officially listed as compatible.

My Ultra 24 has an nVidia Quadro FX card so no Catalyst bobbins for me ;)

Just occupy your time grbbing the title-bar of a window and shaking it... hours of entertainment there making your windows disappear and then re-appear! Who needs the clock :p
