I think it will be good to see both of them at McLaren!

Don’t forget that however good a pilot Lewis is, Jenson has many years more experience at setting up the car etc.

I just hope they get on together! Don’t want another Alonso situation!

Looking forward to it! :D

Lets hope they have a decent car this year the last one was rubbish too slow no downforce

True for the start of the season but Hamilton was the highest scoring driver in the second part of the season, they made an amazing amount of progress on that car.

Its going to be britain vs germany. Mercedes have got 2 german drivers too, but now i'm looking forward to next season even more and with no re-fueling it will be good to see who is the better british driver.

May the best brit win (button) - if mclaren can get their car in gear then we could have another brittish world champion - hopefully a double world champion

BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Formula 1 | Raikkonen rejects F1 for rallying

meanwhile, raikkonen's looking to a possible rallying drive in 2010.

Raikkonen is being paid a sum believed to be in the region of 20m euros not to race for Ferrari in 2010, but still wanted to be paid what he felt was a fair sum to drive for another team.

nice work if you can get it. 20m from ferrari for making way for alonso, and could have got potentially the same again for a drive with a middle row moneybags team ?

It will be interesting, Mclaren will only be fully interested in Lewis seen as he's there baby, so all cash and setup will be to him with Button getting second best tbh, I think it will be an interesting time but maybe not as good as people think it maybe. It will be an Alonso VS Lewis style again I would think.

I hope I get to eat my words but this I feel will be a complete and utter disaster. Having followed F1 since I can remember - [ thanks to my Dad - god bless him - still miss him ] and watching Senna / Prost & Mansell / Piquet - then I feel there will certainly be some tension...... I was going to take the family to a race next year but have just booked a week at Centre Parcs instead.....

Mansell / Piquet / Senna... gone are the days of sparks (literally), simple and surprisingly quick cars, overtaking and decent circuits...

If you're going to do a GP, go abroad, Silverstone is a waste of time imo, certainly some of the stands at Abu Dhabi are designed to show a lot of the track and other places are just simply better (nothing to do with the fact I despise Silverstone for no good reason... I just don't like it... every year, without fail I fall asleep)

FYI: DVLL (Donington Park) went into administration although administrators think they can sell it pretty quickly...

I agree about Silverstone 100% - although I will take both my boys there in a few years so they can at least witness the noise and general atmosphere. I was going to take the missus for a week in Monaco for the event - top notch package etc but need to find someone to look after the kids [ and take them to school etc !! ]

P.S. Who else enjoyed last night's James May's Toy Stories ?

That was cool! It's been a great series but they are leaving a huge gap to the next one aren't they?

I went to the Mercedes Benz World event last week (or the week before?) which was is located in the middle of Brooklands (where they sent those locals for some performance driving instruction) and that was absolutely brilliant in terms of spectating (despite having around 20k people there)... interesting watching them stick F1 cars and the DTM cars on the wet resin circle (slip speed of 16mph) and other things - but you get very close to the action there (well worth going if they do it next year).

That's my alternative for trying to do an F1 event in the UK at least...

I was there for that - was brilliant!

was standing at the fence when Ham did his lap and got some great pictures until batteries ran down. Shame Button couldn't make it
