The message was only displayed by mistake as the limit was far too low to trigger it. You shouldnt see it again but yeh the server has been getting a smack lately but that came up because the default limit was too low (not actual high load at the time)

Yeh the load has been higher today then normal causing the servers load limiter to kick in.

We are looking to take urgent action on the server situation asap once we have confirmed our host.

Yeh it was just occuring less last week. I get an email when the load goes over a certain point and then if it goes further people are locked out until it drops.

The load issue itself is caused by server resources (ram mostly) running to its peak. Bandwidth itself is fine. We currently have 2 servers running the setup right now which was change pre-summer to try to prevent the load issues which worked for a while but the hits keep going up.

Looks like Edugeek's going from strength to strength. Can't be a bad thing really, getting too many hits for your servers to cope!

You should see my inbox go everytime there is a lot on :lalala:

I thought it was Hosted, so somewhere in some datacenter sits the server.

They'd want more cash for hosting resources :)

Ahh so comes down to the old $$$ as usual within our worlds.

We have plenty of money for a new hosted server so don't worry about that. Shaun assures me that once he's identified the best host for us we can be migrated in very little time. The thing is we need to get this right first time as there are initial costs involved with any server lease. In the future we will most likely have our own box in a co-lo somewhere near Shaun :)

Thats Edutechs place. Myself i would go with a 3rd party for many reasons.

Oh and i did offer to donate a PowerEdge 2900 Server for the site but no come back...

It's ugly. :D

I was not aware of that...

Colo options:

I have looked into the route of us buying a server and installing it in a colo somewhere but colo is quite expensive anyway by comparison to renting a server and you have to maintain the hardware but it is ideal in a way.

Host options:

We have several options right now for a host but like Dos says its not a case of money as such, more just a case of getting the right host for the job.
